Karla Linke

Karla Linke ( born June 29, 1960 in Dresden) is a former swimmer who competed for East Germany.

The starting for the SC Einheit Dresden swimmer had their best time mid-seventies, as they only set a world record at the European Championships in Vienna in 1974 and later the title over 200m breaststroke secured. Later she went on to win medals at the world swimming championships in Cali over 400 m medley and 200m breaststroke. In the Summer Olympics 1976 in Montréal it reached the 8th place and over 200m breaststroke on the 5th place 100m breaststroke.

The swimming championships of the GDR left could total twice to win the title and was a total of twice second and once third. Their two league titles they won in 1975 and 1976 over 200 m breaststroke.

After subsided, sporting success, she ended her career in 1977. Karla left a long time lived in Sweden and worked for the German - Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Dresden. She is currently working in the Swedish Embassy in Berlin.
