Sara Nordenstam

Sara Nordenstam ( born February 28, 1983 in Lycksele, Sweden) is a Norwegian swimmer.

Sara Nordenstam is a specialist in the chest stretches. Multiple placed it on Norwegian records. In major international events, the Norwegian could not achieve significant results by 2008. Her breakthrough came only during the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing. In 2:23,79 she presented on August 14 in a semifinal run over 200m breaststroke a new European record which was then snatched from her just a few minutes from the Austrian Mirna Jukic again, who held the record even before. The next day Nordenstam was in the final run behind Rebecca Soni, who swam a world record, and Leisel Jones to win the bronze medal and win back the European record. They thereby improved their personal best since June 2008, within two months of around seven seconds.
