Gary Baseman

Gary Baseman ( born 1960 in Los Angeles, California, USA) is an American cartoonist, artist and illustrator.

Baseman acquired in 1982 Phi Beta Kappa degree from the University of California (UCLA ).

Baseman is one of the creators and executive producer of the animated TV series Teacher's Pet by ABC / Disney, which consecutively won two years the Emmy for Best Daytime Animated Series as well as a British Emmy ( BAFTA ) for best international children's program.

Baseman illustrations appeared inter alia in Time, Rolling Stone, in the gentlemen's WorldGQ, The New Yorker, and the New York Times.

The National Portrait Gallery in Washington and the Museum of Modern Art in Rome show baseman works in their permanent collections. However baseman presents his painting also in own gallery exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, Rome and Tokyo. He lectures at internationally renowned universities such as the School of Visual Arts in NY, the Royal College of Art in London or the Art Center in LA.

In the Urban Vinyl scene baseman came through his characters Dumb Luck or Fire Water Bunny quickly famous. Baseman has been on various Designer Toy Series invitees, including several works of Dunny.
