Gary Sinise

Gary Alan Sinise ( born March 17, 1955 in Blue Iceland, Illinois ) is an American actor, director and musician.

Life

Gary Sinise was born in 1955 in Blue Iceland, Illinois, the son of Mylles S. ( b. 1932; born Alsip ) born and Robert L. Sinise (* 1931). The latter has worked as a cutter (cutter) and seemed so, for example, to Sinises Of Mice and Men with. Robert Sinises father ( Gary's grandfather) was Italian. As a teenager, he attended Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois.

Prior to his cinema career Sinise worked mainly in the theater. Together with Terry Kinney and Jeff Perry, he founded the Chicago Steppenwolf Theatre Company in 1974. There he took on roles in numerous productions and also served as producer and director of some pieces.

After his stage - work Miles from Home and Of Mice and Men, he established himself as an actor in Hollywood, including through roles in Apollo 13, The Green Mile and Mission To Mars. For his role as Lt.. Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump in 1995 he was nominated for best supporting actor Oscar. Due to the crime series CSI: NY in which he embodies Detective Mac Taylor, he also became known to a wide television audience in 2004. His German dubbing voice speaks Tobias Meister.

Since 2003, he plays bass in the band he founded Lieutenant Dan (named after the of Sinise embodied in Forrest Gump movie character ). This band occurs in favor of charitable purposes provided with school material on (mostly limbless person to support U.S. veterans ), including for the United Service Organizations and launched by Sinise Action Operation Iraqi Children, schools in Iraq.

1976 Sinise learned the actress Moira Harris know. They married in 1981 and have three children together.
