History

Gawroniec is an old village church, which had formerly belonged to a manor. In the district of the village, a Vorwerk and a stately manor house were located. In the 19th century the estate was owned by a branch of the Borcke family. Until the regulation of manorial and peasant relations in the early 19th century, had the jurisdiction of the village, which had at that time still belongs to the province Neumark, been in the hands of the landowner.

The village had belonged until 1945 to Pomerania. The parish was a branch of the parish of Wusterwitz.

Towards the end of World War II, the region was conquered and occupied in the spring of 1945 by the Red Army. Shortly after the war, the region was put together with all Pomerania under Polish administration. The German village Gersdorf was renamed Gawroniec. Soon after the immigration of Poles who urged the native German population from their homes and farms began. The German natives were driven to about 1947, citing the so-called Bierut Decrees from their village.
