The Geiselbach is a 5.2 km long right tributary of the Kahl in the district of Aschaffenburg and in the Main- Kinzig district, in the Spessart. The source is located above the small Bavarian town of Geiselbach to about 300 m above sea level. NN.

Name

Takes its name from the Old High German word Geiselbach " Geisila " which means tail. Hence the statement: Bach where you cut rods. In 1496 he came to the female form before the Geiselbach. The brook gave the place its name Geiselbach.

Course

The Geiselbach arises above the village Geiselbach by the confluence of several small streams swelling. After about 3 km, it reaches the running of the Hessian border Teufelsgrund. There opens its largest tributary, the Omersbach. Meanwhile, water dined earlier in the Teufelsmühle Teufelsgrund. In particularly dry months, when the water level of Omersbaches was too low, caused by an artificial moat that the water from about 10 m deep flowing Geiselbach operated the mill.
