The Westerbach between Western and sub Schneppenbach
The Westerbach or also called Western Kahl, a 6.3- km-long right tributary of the Kahl, which flows through the western base in Aschaffenburg district in the Bavarian Spessart. It is formed in the district of Huckelheim by the confluence of the creek and cross Huckelheimer Bach.
Name
The original name Western waters (around 1282 Weysluthera ) is composed of three name components. The Middle High German root word is a shortening of ahe what water is. The Old High German middle phalanx Hludira stands for purling. The first part of the name is derived from the Old High German word Weiz, that means wheat. Thus, it was a rushing stream, was attached to the wheat.
The Western was the Western Ground and the local Westerngrund with the hamlets of Upper and Lower Western its name.

Querbach
The cross- stream springs from the Arzborn ( partially Atzborn called ), a major source of the high cross- mountain ( 478 m), northeast of Huckelheim, near the border with Hesse. The cross- stream is 1.8 km, the longer the source stream.
Huckelheimer Bach
The 1.4 km long Huckelheimer creek rises north of Huckelheim. He feeds a pond, and joins in with the Huckelheim Querbach.
Course
After the union of the two streams of Westerbach flows south through the town Westerngrund that belongs to the administrative community Schöllkrippen. There, he takes on the water of a springing at the Holy Cross Chapel creek. In Schöllkrippen the Westerbach finally reaches the Kahlgrund, where he in 2305 and 2306 discharges under the junction of state highways in the Kahl. He is next to Geiselbach, Reichenbach and Sommerkahl one of their biggest inflows.

Mills
Similar to the Kahltal were several mills in Western reason. The Westerbach and a number of other film sources from the new red sandstone Spessart, provided enough water for this drive. Today, almost all water wheels are gone, but the interior is still present in a few mills, other remained only the name remains.
