George Kocherry

George Kocherry ( born February 4, 1945 in Changanacherry ) is a diplomat of the Holy See.

Life

George Kocherry received on 26 June 1974, the ordination.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 10 June 2000 Titular per hac vice of Othona and Apostolic Nuncio of Togo and Ghana. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Changanacherry, Joseph Powathil, on 21 August of the same year; Co-consecrators were Pallikaparampil Joseph, Bishop of Palai, and George Valiamattam, Archbishop of Tellicherry.

From his position as Apostolic Nuncio in Togo, he resigned on 2002. Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 22 December 2007 on the Apostolic Nuncio to Zimbabwe. On July 6, 2013, Pope Francis appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Bangladesh.
