George Rodrigue

George Rodrigue ( born March 13, 1944 in New Iberia, Louisiana, † December 14, 2013 in Houston, Texas ) was a Cajun artist from Louisiana.

Life and work

After school on a boys' school, he studied art at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. He is best known for several posters at several major music festivals, portraits of politicians like Ronald Reagan and his used inter alia in the art series for Absolut Vodka Blue Dog images. These are eponymous for the Blue Dog Coalition policy.
