Gheorghe Ene

Gheorghe Ene ( born January 21, 1937 in Bucharest; † 6 April 2009) was a Romanian football player and coach. He played a total of 227 games in the first Romanian football league, the Divizia A. To avoid confusion with his namesake Alexandru Ene, he was led into the Romanian sports press as Ene II.

Career as a player

The career of Gheorghe Ene began in his hometown of Bucharest in 1955 at vointa Bucharest in Divizia B. After one year, he joined local rivals and league rivals Progresul CPCS Bucharest before him in 1956, the first division Locomotiva Bucharest (now Rapid Bucharest ) committed. During the season 1957/58 he became a regular player. The big breakthrough came a year later when he hits the top scorer with 17 could secure 1959.

National

Gheorghe Ene played only three games for the Romanian national football team, without it being possible to score a goal. He debuted on June 15, 1955 in a friendly against Sweden. It was followed by another appearance on 29 September 1957 at the World Cup qualifier against Yugoslavia before it was used in the friendly match against Turkey for the last time on 8 October 1961.

Career as a coach

After the end of his active career Ene was at the beginning of the 1970s, young coaches in the center of Dinamo Bucharest. At the beginning of the 1978/79 season he became head coach of Jiul Petrosani, but had already returned in October to resign. In addition to writing for several unterklassigen clubs such as Unirea Slobozia, muscelul Câmpulung and CS Targoviste, he oversaw the beginning of the 1983/84 season Corvinul Hunedoara, but was already after three games replaced by Ladislau Vlad.
