Gheorghe Liliac

Gheorghe liliac ( born April 22, 1959 in Dorohoi, Botosani county ) is a former Romanian football player and current football coach. He played a total of 223 games in the Romanian Divizia A as well as in the Israeli Liga Leumit. With the Romanian national team, he participated in the FIFA World Cup 1990 as the third goalkeeper.

Playing career

Liliac began playing football in his hometown at Cristalul Dorohoi. At 22, he moved to the neighboring town of Botosani Botosani to the local CS, which played into the Divizia B. There the class FC Bihor Oradea became aware of him in 1983, so he moved to the Divizia A and there made ​​his debut on 28 August 1983.

At FC Bihor liliac did not regularly used. After the descent of the club at the end of the 1985/86 season is liliac joined the league rivals Petrolul Ploiesti, where he was goalkeeper immediately and managed in the national team. Because of his achievements, he moved in 1987 to Steaua Bucharest. There he broke off as goalkeeper during the season Dumitru Stângaciu. The 1987/88 season was the most successful of his career, at the end he won the Romanian Cup and reached the semi-finals in the European Champions Cup.

After Steaua had committed at the beginning of the 1988/89 season Silviu Lung, liliac never got beyond the role of the substitute 's and returned in 1989 back to Petrolul Ploiesti, before moving in 1991 to foreign countries and the Israeli club Hapoel Tzafririm Holon joined, of his time playing in the highest Israeli League, the League Leumit. There, he finished his career in 1993, before 1995 still there hung two years at unterklassigen Romanian club Metalul Filipesti.

National

Liliac played four games for the Romanian national football team. He made his debut on July 8, 1987 against Israel when he came on at half time for Silviu Lung.
