Giovanni Francesco Ugolini

Giovanni Francesco Ugolini ( born February 28, 1953 in Pont-à- Vendin in the French department of Pas -de- Calais ) is a politician from San Marino. It was from April to October 2002 Capitano Reggente (Head of State ) of San Marino. From 1 October 2010 to 31 March 2011, he was again Capitano Reggente, together with Andrea Zafferani.

Biography

Giovanni Francesco Ugolini has a degree in industrial chemistry from the Istituto Tecnico Industriale di Urbino. From 1974 to 1985 he worked as a laboratory technician in the state hospital of San Marino. Subsequently he was for ten years hotelier in Borgo Maggiore, between 1996 and 2008 he worked as a senior executive in an industrial company. Since 2008 he is employed by his party, the PDCS. In the years 1981 to 2007 he was president of the Tourism Association of San Marino ( USOT ). Ugolini is married and has one daughter.

Policy

Ugolini was in 1978 a member of the Christian Democratic PDCS. Since 1998 he is a member of the Consiglio Grande e Generale, the parliament of San Marino. He was a member of the Finance Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee. From April to October 2002, he held the position of Capitano Reggente, the head of state of San Marino. He is a member of the Consiglio dei XII and since 2007 Segretario Amministrativo. On 1 October 2010 his second term began as Capitano Reggente, together with Andrea Zafferani, which ended on March 1, 2011.
