Giovanni Odazzi

Giovanni Odazzi or Odasi (* 1663 in Rome, † June 6, 1731 ) was an Italian painter and graphic artist of the Rococo in Rome.

Life

Odazzi was a pupil of Ciro Ferri and Cornelis Blomaert, then works under Giovanni Battista Gaulli ( Bacciccio ). Finally he went to Carlo Maratta, developed under the Odazzi his art on. On March 2, he was a member of the Congregation dei Virtuosi al Pantheon, and on January 10, 1706 member of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome. The most style of his teacher Bacciccio ajar frescoes in Santa Maria in Aracoeli regarded as his earliest works. In 1710 he received from Cardinal Giovanni Maria Gabrielli commissioned to paint two panel paintings for the San Bernardo alle Terme.
