Girls' Generation (2011 album)

Girls 'Generation is the title of the first Japanese-language music album of the same name pop group Girls' Generation. It was published on 1 June 2011 by Nayutawave Records. The album also bears the same name as the first album the group Girls' Generation.

Publication

The album was released on 1 June 2011 in three different versions: a Deluxe First Press Edition, a limited edition and a regular edition. The latter contains only the music CD. The Limited Edition contains the CD or a DVD with music videos, a poster and a photo book. The Deluxe First Press Edition comes in a big box and includes in addition a handbag.

Reception and chart success

Nick Butler of Sputnik Music rated the album 3.5 stars out of 5 points. He criticized the many electronic effects that were used in the songs and was slightly disappointed that none of the songs reached the qualities of Gee. However, he praised the fact that many good songs were included on the album, which only rarely in modern pop album was the case today. He described the music as " sunny feel - you - good - Pop " ( "sunny, feel-good pop" ). The American music magazine Spin recorded the album in its list of the best pop albums of 2011 and number 18 on. The highlight of the album of the writer Charles Aaron called the song " Run Devil Run".

The album went double platinum in Japan. 2012, the album at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan was awarded as the Best Album of the Year.
