Gitane is a French bicycle manufacturer whose manufacturing facilities are now in Romilly- sur -Seine. The brand name " Gitane " means gypsy woman. Company History

The origins of Gitane can already be found in the year 1925, when Marcel Brunelière opened a blacksmith for tools and agricultural needs in Machecoul not far from Nantes in the Loire -Atlantique.
