Giuseppe Bruno

Cardinal Giuseppe Bruno ( * June 30, 1875 in Sezzadio, Province of Alessandria, Italy, † November 10, 1954 in Rome ) was an Italian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Giuseppe Bruno studied Catholic theology, law and canon law, and was consecrated on April 10, 1898 a priest of the diocese of Acqui.

In 1924, Giuseppe Bruno by Pope Pius XI. appointed Secretary of the Pontifical Commission for the Interpretation of Legislative Texts, 1930, he became secretary to the Congregation Council. On February 18, 1946 it took Pius XII. as cardinal deacon with the title of S. Eustachio diakonia in the College of Cardinals. 1949 appointed the Pontifex Bruno Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation Council, a function that has held this until 1954. On 20 March 1954 he transferred to the Pope, the Office of the Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura and at the same time the Prefect of the Pontifical Commission for the Interpretation of Legislative Texts. Both offices had Giuseppe Bruno held until death.
