Giuseppe Nicola Nasini

Giuseppe Nicola Nasini (* January 25, 1657 in Castel del Piano ); † July 3, 1736 in Siena) was an Italian painter who painted in the style of the Baroque.

Life

His father Francesco Nasini came from the neighboring Piancastagnaio. He was born 1657 in Castel del Piano. His mother was Vittoria Bassi. First influences on his work were the grandfather Giacomo Nasini, his father Francesco Nasini and his uncle Antonio Annibale Nasini. 1679 he was a student at the Accademia di San Luca in Rome. For Agostino Chigi (1634-1705), he designed the Palazzo Chigi in Ariccia 1679-1680 thirteen Portrait of the children of the Chigi. From 1681 on, he attended the Accademia delle Arti Granducale in Rome, which was at that time under the direction of Ciro Ferri and was funded by the Medici. In 1685 he returned to Siena, and between 1686-1688 he lived in Venice, to then work in Florence. On November 21, 1691, he married in the Church of San Pier Gattolino in Florence Elisabetta di Sebastiano Neri. With her he had children Apollonio (* August 17, 1692 ), Cosimo Gaetano ( born January 13, 1695) and Francesca ( born April 9, 1701). 1715 he returned to Rome to paint in the Basilica Santi Apostoli, in the Quirinal Palace and the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano. His wife Elisabetta died on January 1, 1718 in Castel del Piano.

He was in the service of the Grand Duke of Florence and of the Elector of Mainz, the Emperor Joseph gave him the patent of nobility.
