Gladstone (footballer)

Gladstone Pereira della Valentina or short Gladstone ( born January 29, 1985 in Vila Velha ) is a Brazilian footballer. In addition to the Brazilian citizenship he also owns the Italian.

Club career

Gladstone Played in his youth, most recently at the Brazilian club Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte. There he was appointed to the 2003 season in the first team. With Cruzeiro, he celebrated in his first professional season, their first championship in club history, as well as winning the Copa do Brasil and the state championship of Minas Gerais. In the summer of 2005, he was awarded for half a year at Juventus and then another six months to the Italian second division club Hellas Verona. But with both clubs, he rarely came or not to use, so he again returned to Brazil in 2006. For the 2007/08 season he was loaned to Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese had at the end of the season an option to purchase approximately 3.25 million euros, but do not preferred because the defender never was able to beat its competitors. Meanwhile, Gladstone had won with Sporting both the national cup and the Super Cup. After the departure from Lisbon was followed by another 6- monatigs lending transaction with the Brazilian first division club Palmeiras São Paulo. Again, the club had an option to buy at the end of the season, but did not draw this. In 2009 Gladstone played on loan at Náutico Capibaribe. After the expiry of his contract with Cruzeiro defender signed in February 2010 a three-year contract with the Romanian first division side FC Vaslui.

National

Gladstone was first appointed to the squad for the game between the Brazilian national team on 15 November 2006 against Switzerland, but did not play. From the new national team coach Dunga was followed in September 2007 or nominations for the games against Mexico and the United States.
