Glass Cloud is a metal band from Hampton, Virginia, which connects Metalcore Progressive Metal.

History

The band was founded in early 2011, after Jerry Roush's former band Sky Eats Airplane disbanded two years earlier. Looking for new members for his own band, he came by chance with guitarist Travis Sykes and drummer Chad Hasty in contact, which Roush knew from his childhood. Both were former students of the Berklee College of Music, where already John Petrucci or Adam Dutkiewicz once made ​​their statements. With the former The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza guitarist Joshua Travis, with which Roush stood back and reconnect, the line up of the band was complete. Since Roush even after the dissolution of his first band in close contact with the American record label, Equal Vision Records used, came into being in this way a record deal.

Beginning of March 2012 the band entered an additional contract with the Australian label We Are Unified one, which took care of the sales on the continent. The end of March, the band released their first self-titled digital single containing the songs White Flag and Counting Sheep, which should make a small foretaste of the forthcoming debut album. In May 2012, announced the British label Basick Records to distribute the first album Glass Cloud's in Europe.

In early July, the band released their first studio album, The Royal Thousand, which was produced by Joshua Travis himself. The idea for the album name originated from the time of the formation of the band and was once supposed to represent the band's name. The lyrics of the album negotiated primarily by the love and personal experiences from the lives of the band members. Shortly after the album's release, the band played next to Texas in July, We Came As Romans and The Acacia Strain on the Scream It Like You Mean It Tour. During The Alternative Press Tour with, among others, Miss May I and The Ghost Inside, it came in November 2012 near the Blue Mountains to the accident, in which the band Van der overturned.
