Gloria Amon Nikoi

Gloria Amon Nikoi (* 1930 in Ghana) is a leading politician, diplomat and scholar financial Ghana. She is the first and so far only woman in the position of the Foreign Minister of Ghana. Gloria Nikoi is the widow of Amon Nikoi († 2002), mother of three children.

Career

Nikoi was between 1969 and 1974 Vice Representative of Ghana to the United Nations. Gloria Amon- Nikoi was after the coup of Jerry Rawlings in the Third Republic from June to September 1979, the first Foreign Minister of Ghana. She was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Akuapem Rural Bank and Vice President of the National Association of Rural Banks of Ghana. In the Apex Bank in Ghana is CEO ( Chairman of the Board of Directors of Apex Bank).

In November 1990 Nikoi was the chairman of the first meeting of the Ghana Stock Exchange before the Ghana Stock Exchange was officially opened in January 1991. Nikoi was director of the National Bank of Ghana ( National Bank of Ghana ) in Accra. Nikoi was honored by President John Agyekum Kufuor by the award of the National Order for their outstanding services to Ghana.
