Gloria Marconi

Gloria Marconi ( born March 31, 1968 in Florence) is an Italian long-distance runner.

At school, she was a talented middle distance runner, but had to cancel at the age of 15 years, her athletic career because of chronic headaches.

A renewed effort began in 1997, and entering on the coach Maurizio Lorenzetti met in the year, which is her partner today, the successes came a long-haul. Twice she was Italian champion in the 5000 m ( 2002, 2004 ) and three times in the 10,000 m (2003, 2006, 2007 ); two more national titles she won over 3000 meters in Hall (2002) and Half Marathon (2006).

In 2002 she won the Prague Half Marathon. At the European Athletics Championships in Munich, she was eleventh in the 5000m and 10,000 m was on the 24th Place. The following year, she won her debut over the 42.195 kilometers from the Rome Marathon in 2:29:35 hours and finished the marathon in the World Athletics Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis to 42nd place.

In 2004 she was eleventh at the World Half Marathon Championships in New Delhi and second in the Milan City Marathon in 2:31:53 h 2006 she won the Reggio Emilia - Marathon.

Gloria Marconi is 1,63 m tall and weighs 48 kg. It starts for Atletica Ferrara and is coached by her partner, Maurizio Lorenzetti and Massimo Magnani.
