The Good Sam RV Insurance 500 is the second of two races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.
Between 1997 and 2007 it was combined with another race, the Pocono 500, the only two races in the calendar of the Sprint Cup, who had no major sponsor. The decision to waive a sponsor, the management of the racetrack scored on feedback from the fans. For the 2008 season to Sunoco, the official fuel supplier of NASCAR, and the American Red Cross of the Philadelphia region decided to sponsor the race and charity events in the region.
In the 2007 season, the race changed its traditional date in July with the Brickyard 400 in August.
