Gold Coast City

Geography
The Gold Coast is the southern LGA of the state on the east coast and is bordered by New South Wales. The centers of the capital, Brisbane and the Gold Coast are about 70 km apart.
The administrative headquarters of the LGA is located in the district of Surfers Paradise, which has about 18 500 inhabitants. History
From the 60s of the 19th century, the settlement of the South Coast began as the Gold Coast was known until the 1950s. 1948 Southport and Coolangatta combined to form the South Coast Town and named 1958 Gold Coast, a year later they were collected to the city.
Management
The Gold Coast City Council has 15 members. 14 Councillor elected by the residents of the 14 divisions ( constituencies ). The Council President and Mayor ( Mayor ) is also elected by all residents of the City.
