Göran Lindblom

Göran Folke Lindblom ( born March 4, 1956 in Skellefteå ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player and coach.

Career

Göran Lindblom began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the Skellefteå AIK, for the seniors team he made his debut in Division 1, the highest Swedish league was in the 1972/73 season. In his rookie year he went with Skellefteå from the subprime Division 2, from him and failed to comeback with his team in 1974. From the 1975/76 season the defender Elitserien ran with his team on in the professional league newly established. With Skellefteå he won the Swedish championship in season 1977/78. With 35 assists, he was in the following season best assist provider of Elitserien. In the 1984/85 season he rose again from Skellefteå with, this time in the now second-class Division 1, reached with his team but in the 1985/86 season again direct resurgence. Finally, the Swede from 1988 to 1990 occurred in the third division Malå IF, before he ended his active career at the age of 34 years.

At the World Championship 2000 Lindblom worked as assistant coach of the Swedish U18 Junior National Team.

Internationally

For Sweden Lindblom took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 1974 and 1976 at junior level. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1978, 1981 and 1982 and at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo.
