Gordon Darcy Lilo

Gordon Darcy Lilo ( born August 28, 1965 in Ghatere on Kolombangara ) is a Solomon Islands politician and, since November 16, 2011 Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands.

Lilo studied at the University of Papua New Guinea, reaching there the Bachelor of Economic and Postgraduate Diploma. At the Australian National University, he received the Master of Development and Administration.

Lilo was elected on 5 December 2001 for the first time in parliament and re-elected on 5 April 2006. Of 17 December 2001 to 4 April 2006, he was leader of the Independent Group in Parliament. From May 2006 to November 8, 2007 he held the post of Minister of Finance, from 8 to 10 November 2007 he was Minister of Justice and since December 22, 2007 Environment Minister of the Solomon Islands.
