Manasseh Sogavare

Manasseh Sogavare (born 1954 ) is a Solomon Islands politician and was twice Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands.

Sogarave was dated 30 June 2000 and 17 December 2001 and in a second term of office on 4 May 2006 Prime Minister until he was overthrown on 13 December 2007 by a vote of no confidence by 25 to 22 votes. He is a member of the Social Credit Party Solomon ( Socred ) and based its reign on a five-party coalition in parliament.

After the Tsunami in Gizo in April 2007, he called there a state of emergency.
