Snyder Rini

Snyder Rini ( born July 17, 1949) is a former Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands. He was elected on 17 April 2006 at the second ballot, but resigned after public protests just 10 days later all of his posts back. His opponents accused him of that Taiwanese donors supported his choice and bought votes of the rival side. Rini denies this. The Solomon recognize Taiwan as one of several countries of Oceania under international law. For this reason, it arrived in the capital Honiara on 18 April 2006, severe riots with several casualties in the neighborhoods of Chinatown and Marzinho to Rösanie. Australian and New Zealand military and police units ended up the next day to restore peace and order.

From 2001 to 2006 Rini was deputy prime minister in the government of Allan Kemakeza.

On April 26, 2006 Snyder Rini resigned from the post of prime minister, before a vote of no confidence was placed in Parliament.
