Gottfrieding is a municipality in the Lower Bavarian district of Dingolfing- Landau and a member of the administrative community Mamming.

Geography

Gottfrieding lies in the planning region Landshut.

There are 13 officially designated parts of municipalities ( districts ), which are divided into two districts:

District Gottfrieding

Daibersdorf, Frichlkofen, Golding, Gottfrieding, Gottfried Inger Schwaige Hacklberg, Kleinpilberskofen, Upper Because Bach, Ottenkofen, Tichling, Unterweilenbach.

District Hackerskofen ( to 1946 independent municipality )

History

The area around Gottfrieding was inhabited by about 1000 BC. Witnesses of this period are the burial mounds from the Hallstatt period in Ottenkofen and Unterweilenbach.

Gottfrieding was first mentioned in 902 as Guotfriedinga.

Other districts have a long history: 927 was the place Wilpach, today Because Bach, mentioned. In the 6th century, when the Bavarians came Isar Valley, new settlements, such Hackerskofen, Ottenkofen, Frichlkofen, Holzhausen and Daibersdorf were founded. As a tributary Hofmark Gottfrieding belonged in the 14th century the noble Lord sailor Mangern, and in the 15th century the Counts of Ortenbourg. The basic rule over Gottfrieding part of 1637 until the secularization in 1803 to the monastery of Alder creek. The village was part of the Electorate of Bavaria, but formed a closed Hofmark, which was repealed in 1803 with the monastery.

In November 2007, the citizens of the community voted in majority for a resolution and integration of Gottfrieding in the county town of Dingolfing, as it was proposed by a citizens' initiative.

Population Development

Policy

The first mayor is Gerald Rost ( CSU) from Golding. The second mayor is George Schmidbauer (UWG ) from Gottfried Inger Schwaige. The mayor is 3 3 Mayor Günther Meier (CSU ) from Gottfried Inger Schwaige.

The council is made up of five seats of the CSU, 4 seats of the FWG, 4 seats of the UWG and 2 seats of the SPD (as of 2013).

Culture and sights

The parish church of St. Stephen has a tower base from the 13th century, the chancel dates from the second half of the 15th century. The north aisle came in 1630 to the tower superstructure 1730. From 1730 to 1877 the tower was a dome, but was replaced by a spire in the Gothic style once again. The church has a neo-Gothic main altar.
