Götz Alsmann

Götz Alsmann ( born July 12, 1957 in Münster ) is a German musician ( multi-instrumentalist, especially pianist and singer ), presenter and entertainer.

Life

In 1972, Alsmann his first band called Grasshopper Jug Band, with whom he recorded three plates. After graduating from the Johann -Conrad- Schlaun High School in Münster Alsmann studied from 1977 at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster German Studies, Journalism and musicology. He completed his musical studies in 1985 with the science PhD. from ( title of the thesis: "Nothing but noise: The independent record companies and the development of American popular music from 1943 to 1963 "). From 1980 to 1988 he played in the band Sentimental Pounders, since 1988, he joined the band with Götz Alsmann on. The members of the band are Michael Müller (bass ), Rudi Marhold (drums ), Markus Paßlick ( percussion) and Altfrid M. Sicking (vibraphone, xylophone, trumpet).

Since 1985 Alsmann has worked as a presenter on the radio. From 1986 to 1995 he chaired the Professor Bop show, later on the wings colorful dreams and since 2000 Go, Götz, go! - Alsmanns radio show (all WDR). Since 1986 Alsmann is also presenter on TV, first in Roxy - the magazine for young adults in the WDR. Among other things, he hosted from 1990 to 1993 on RIAS TV the five -hour-long live broadcast High Life, 1992-1993 at RTL the Gong Show, 1993-1994 Avanti VOX from 1994 to 1996, the NDR late show.

On June 3, 2012 Alsmann received for the second time the ECHO. He was in the category "Jazz - National Singer of the Year " award for the song album in Paris.

Götz Alsmann is married and has a son.

Appearance

Trademarks of Götz Alsmann is emphasized in addition to his elegant clothes (usually suit with handkerchief ) especially his quiff. He carries since he was 15.
