Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies

The Geneva Graduate Institute of International Studies ( HEI IUHEI or simply ) is an institute for the study of international relations in Geneva. The French name of the Institute is the Graduate Institute of International Studies. The HEI is an autonomous institute of the University of Geneva and is located in the Villa Barton on Lake Geneva. It was supported by the Rockefeller Foundation as a center of the neoliberals later so designated in the 1930s. Founder and first director of the Institute was William Rappard.

As of 2008, the HEI will be replaced along with the Graduate Institute of Development ( GIDS ) by the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies ( Graduate Institute ).
