Grantham, Queensland

Grantham is a small village with about 370 inhabitants in the Lockyer Valley of Queensland, Australia. The town is located 100 km west of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, and 31 km from Toowoomba.

Flooding

On January 10, 2011 Grantham was massively destroyed by a catastrophic flooding that resulted from the end of 2010 to mid-January 2011 in Queensland to considerable destruction; it is reported that all the houses Grantham were swept away by the flood, and many people lost their lives. Three people were killed with certainty and 40 other deaths are expected. Almost the entire village was destroyed and razed by the flash flood the ground.
