Reviews
The author of Allmusic wrote, Grave Dancers Union was a solid alternative rock album. Were particularly praised the title Homesick and New World that would have laid the foundation for a revival of the country rock, and the " mega-hit " Runaway Train. Too, otherwise most of the reviews were more positive about CD Universe, which meant the album be made as to " sing along for a stadium full of fans ."
Awards
- Grammy Awards 1993: Best rock song of the year ( Runaway Train)
Success
The album proved to be a breakthrough for the band that had already released five albums, of which, however, none of the charts had to place. Grave Dancers Union reached the Top 10 in Germany and elsewhere, this just barely missed in the U.S. and achieved 11th place. In addition, it currently stands at two times platinum status in the United States, so the album must have been there sold more than two million copies alone.
