Grégory Dufer

Grégory Dufer ( born December 19, 1981 in Charleroi) is a Belgian football player. He plays since 2009 for Standard Liège in the Jupiler Pro League, the highest Belgian league.

Career

Dufer began his career with the RFCS Marcinelle. In 1999 he moved to the first team of Sporting Charleroi. In the first season in the top division Belgian Charleroi could avoid relegation with 16th place by three points. 2000/ 01 the club finished in ninth place. Over the next three subsequent seasons, the team gained placements in the stands 12, 16 and 15

In 2004 he moved to France for SM Caen. As a third- Last of the Ligue 1 club was relegated to the next lower league level. The League Cup final in France, however, was achieved. In 2005 he returned to Belgium and signed for FC Bruges. Here he was playing UEFA Champions League qualifier with the club third in the highest Belgian league and was in the following season. In the third qualifying round against the representative from Norway Vålerenga Oslo on 24 August 2005 Dufer came off the bench in the decider in the 69th minute for Günther Vanaudenaerde. In the following penalty shootout he missed a penalty. Bruges won the game on penalties 4-3.

In the winter of 2006/ 07 he left Bruges and changed for the spring 2007 season for KSC Lokeren. Lokeren was ranked 16 before the four less -won counters in 17th place classified Lierse SK, who dropped to the next lower league level. In 2007 he moved to Standard Liege. In his first season, Championship and the Super Cup was won. He came into the championship season to 22 times and scored one goal ( against KRC Genk).

2008/ 09 season, he was loaned to AFC Tubize. The club was relegated to the Players out on loan from Standard and Dufer then returned to Les Rouches. In the 2009/10 season the quarter-finals of the Europa League has been reached. In the championship, the club was eighth, where the team reached the play- offs for the Europa League second place in Group B.

Dufer has played four times for the Belgian national team and scored one goal ( on 28 April 2004 against Turkey ). He made his debut on 31 March 2004 in the friendly match against Germany in Cologne, when he came on in the 59th minute. Germany won the match 3-0.

Furthermore, the right-sided midfielder took part in the U-21 European Football Championships 2002 in Switzerland. Dufer came in all three group matches are used. Belgium resigned as third in the group behind the Czech Republic and France.
