Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics

Grimm's Fairy Tales (Japaneseグリム 名作 劇場, Gurimu Meisaku Gekijo, German "Grimm Masterpieces Theatre ") is an anime television series from 1987, which is largely based on the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm ( Grimm's Fairy Tales ).

Conception

Unlike other animated adaptations of fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, such as Disney or the series SimsalaGrimm the NDR to keep this Japanese series more to the presentation and also exhibits many lesser-known fairy tale. Creation and publication

In Japan, the series ( first season ) ran for the first time on 21 October 1987 to 30 March 1988, the broadcaster TV Asahi. The second season was shown there under the name Shin Gurimu Meisaku Gekijo (新 グリム 名作 劇場) of 2 October 1988 to 26 March 1989.

The series was broadcast in numerous countries and translated into many languages. In addition to the original Japanese and the English version, there was the series on English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Hungarian, Hebrew and Arabic.

On German television series in the early 1990s with Tele 5 from 1997 and ran for the first time on tm3, where she was regularly aired by the end of 2000. In 2001, when the station is tuned in, the series also disappeared from the German TV offering.

The German synchronization was at the Planet Wave Studios. In the German version and the original opening credits with the Japanese theme song of Shiori Matsumoto was used.
