IF Brommapojkarna

The Grimsta Idrottsplats ( German Grimsta sports field) is a football stadium in Vällingby, a suburb of Stockholm. The stadium will host the home games of the IF Brommapojkarna.

Stadium

The stadium was established in 1963 and offered after the construction of the grandstand 4,500 spectators. After the club was first ascended to the 2007 season in the Allsvenskan, the capacity of the stadium was expanded to 7,343 seats. A record crowd there was on April 19, 2009, when 6,255 supporters wanted to see the derby against AIK.

The stadium has a covered grandstand and over half the field extending uncovered main stand with seats. Are each General Admission grandstands on the short sides of the playing field. It was originally played in the stadium on natural grass to meet the requirements for the Allsvenskan, the City of Stockholm has invested 20 million crowns in the laying of an artificial turf covering and soil heating.

Future

In February 2008, the club plans to build on the site of the harness racing track Solvalla a sports complex including convention center and hotel, can be played in both the equestrian and football games. The new stadium will accommodate up to 15,000 spectators. After the planned start of construction in 2009, the arena is scheduled for completion in 2011, construction costs of about 750 million crowns are calculated.
