Grodno Region

The Hrodsenskaja Woblasz (White Russian Гродзенская вобласць; Russian Гродненская область / Grodnenskaya Oblast ) is an administrative district in the west of Belarus, which borders on Lithuania and to the west by Poland. Capital of Woblasz is Grodno ( weißr. Гродна; Russian Гродно / Grodno ).

Description: In red a golden bison. On the shield rests a five towers golden mural crown. Two golden oak branches with blue ribbon surround the blazon.

The Hrodsenskaja Woblasz occupies 12 % of the country and the city of Hrodna forms, with 309,000 inhabitants, is the regional center. The Woblasz is divided into 17 counties, 194 village Soviets, to 12 cities. It covers an area of ​​25,000 km ² and has 1.1462 million inhabitants ( 2004).
