Svislach district
Rajon Swislatsch (White Russian Свіслацкі раён; Russian Свислочский район ) is an administrative unit in the south of Hrodsenskaja Woblasz in Belarus with the administrative center in the small town Swislatsch. The Rajon has an area of 1,400 km ², comprises 152 villages and is divided into six Selsawets and a Passawet.
Geography
The Rajon Swislatsch located south of the Hrodsenskaja Woblasz. To the west it borders on Poland and in the south and southeast to the Breszkaja Woblasz. The Nachbarrajone in the Grodno Region are in the north and the north- east Berastowiza Waukawysk.
History
The Rajon Swislatsch was formed on 15 January 1940.
