Gronków

Gronków ( German: Altthellen ) is a village in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in southern Poland in powiat Nowotarski. It belongs to the urban and rural community Nowy Targ.

Geography

Gronków is one of the most densely populated villages in the district Nowotarski. The village is spread over five kilometers in the south-western part of the district Nowotarski. The location of the houses was determined by the creek Leśnica.

In the field of Gronków there are many rocks. The Cisowa Rocks, also called the Cisowa - Felschen, you can see from the road direction Białka - Nowy Targ. The rock juts out over the grounds. South of the Cisowa Rock is the so -called ridge rock that is a bit lower.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from the 12th century. In years 1975 to 1998 the village belonged to Nowy Sacz Province.
