The group Olten was an existing 1971-2002 Association of Swiss authors, named after the site of the first preparatory meetings, the small town of Olten in the canton of Solothurn.
History
In the group Olten initially rallied members of the Swiss writers association (SSV ), which in 1970 left the club because it was in their view, dominated by reactionary forces. The external cause for secession was that of the SSV - President Maurice Zermatten (anonymous) verfertigte and in their anti-communist tendency to " traitors " stamped all left-wing intellectuals, exacerbated French translation of the official civil defense book, which in the spirit of the Cold War, the population mutual spying calling and was distributed to all households. After the discovery of this " scandal " by Franck Jotterand first appeared on October 27, 1969 in the Gazette de Lausanne, a protest by 78 writers and professors from the Romandie. For the founding members of the group Olten writing was inseparable from a politically binding citizenship. So we took later in the purpose clause of the Articles on the target to achieve " a democratic socialist society."
