Gustavo Peña

Gustavo Peña ( born November 22, 1941 in Talpa, Jalisco ) is a former Mexican football player who was occasionally used mostly as a central defender and as a full-back. The well known by the nickname Halcón ( falcon) known players acted most like and also most commonly known as (usually right ) Vorstopper.

Career

Gustavo Peña graduated in 18 seasons, a total of 306 league games, of which he most appearances for his hometown club Club Deportivo Oro, in which a total of 12 years he was under contract in two stages and with which he was 1963 champion. His greatest successes came during his three years of service at the capital club Cruz Azul, with whom he won several titles.

With 82 international matches that he played in the period between March 1961 and September 1974 he was at that time international record holder of the Mexican National Team. He had a safe reception of the ball, was responsive, and it was 67 times as captain of the national team of his native country for use.

Association

Peña made ​​his professional debut in the Mexican Primera División at the age of 18 years in the season 1959/60.
