World Team of the 20th Century
1998 chose 250 sports journalists a selection of eleven footballers who are supposed to represent the best players of the 20th century.
General
The team consists of one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three strikers. The same 250 journalists selected in addition the continental selections from Europe and South America. It also still the best players in the other continents ( North and Central America, Africa, Asia and Oceania ) were selected. However, this choice took over a smaller selection of sports journalists from each continent.
The teams were then presented in the opening ceremony of the 1998 World Cup in France on 10 June publicly.
