Habib Bourguiba jr.

Habib Bourguiba Jr. (Arabic الحبيب بورقيبة الابن, DMG al -Habib al - Ibn Būrqība; born April 9, 1927 in Paris, † 28 December 2009 in Tunis ) was a Tunisian diplomat and politician.

Life and career

Habib Bourguiba Jr. was the only son of the future leader of the Tunisian independence movement and President Habib Bourguiba and his first wife, the French Mathilde Lorrain (later Moufida Bourguiba ) born in 1927.

After Habib Bourguiba became senior in 1957 after deposing the king Muhammad VIII al Amin first president of the Republic of Tunisia, he appointed his son Habib Bourguiba Jr. Ambassador of Tunisia in France and later in Italy, and finally, from 1961 to 1963 in the United States where this several times met with President John F. Kennedy.

In 1964, Bourguiba Jr., Mongi Slim's successor as foreign minister, and remained until 1970 in the office, before he was replaced by Muhammad Masmudi.
