Hagood Hardy

Hugh Hagood Hardy, CM, ( born February 26, 1937 in Angola, Indiana; † January 1, 1997 in Hamilton, Ontario) was a Canadian vibraphonist, pianist and film composer.

Life and work

Hardy, who grew up in Oakville (Ontario), earned a Bachelor of Arts at Trinity College, University of Toronto, he also had private lessons with Gordon Delamont. He played from the early 1960s in the United States with Gigi Gryce, Martin Denny, Herbie Mann, George Shearing. Upon his return to Canada, he worked with private Trio, which he soon advanced to the pop group assembly, with whom he also toured in Europe. Under his own name he took off in the early 1970s for a series of singles and albums in the area of ​​pop and easy listening. The single reached The Homecoming 1975, the charts in the U.S. (# 41 pop, # 6 easy listening ).
