Hail to the Thief is the sixth studio album by British alternative band Radiohead. It was released in June 2003 and won the first place in the UK album charts. In Germany and Switzerland, each reached No. 3 in Austria Place 6 The follow-up album was released on 10 October 2007.
Description
The title of the album is considered due to its allegory to " Hail to the Chief " as an allusion to the U.S. President George W. Bush and his narrow election victory in 2000. This pointed the band in interviews but as an interpretive reduction of salary statement back. Much more they want it, and the album itself, know as a reflection of the mood of the time in which " Hail to the Thief " was understood. The highly variable by different instruments used sound depth of the recorded in Los Angeles album is different, like all Radiohead albums, from its predecessors. However, following on from Kid A and Amnesiac, increasingly used in addition to quiet piano intros and jangling guitar riffs and electronic elements, such as Where I End and You Begin ( the sky is falling in ) or Myxomatosis ( judge, jury and executioner ). Thus, in addition quieter ballads as bpsw. " A Wolf at the Door ( it girl rag doll ) " or two years earlier planned song " There There (the boney king of nowhere ) ", both dark and aggressive songs with electronica elements such as " Myxomatosis ( judge, jury and executioner ) ", as well as influences of minimum in " Back drifts ( honeymoon is over ) " and alternative rock in " 2 2 = 5 (the luke warm). "
Each song on the album has an alternative title, such as 2 2 = 5 The Lukewarm yet.
