Hainberg (hills)

The Hainberg (also called grove mountains popularly due to its several hilltops outdated, even Heinberg ) is a 299 m high ridge to the northwest of the resin in the eastern Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

Geography

The wooded grove mountain spreads out at the interface of the counties Wolfenbüttel, Goslar and Hildesheim. It is located a few kilometers southwest of Salzgitter in the center of the Inner Uplands, a north-eastern part of Lower Saxony's mountain country and separates the Ambergau east. The mountain range lies west of the innermost, northwest of Neile and east of Nice between the ridge Vorholz in the north - north-west and the Salzgitter ridge (incl light mountains ) in the north, northeast and east. South of the mountain grove close to the northwestern foothills of the Harz. The Hainberg extends from Holle in the north - northwest and Baddeckenstedt in the north and east to Lutter am Barenberg in the south. West of the grove Bergs is Bockenem in the center of the Ambergaus.

Through the northwestern foothills of the grove hill leads in a north-south direction, a section of the A 7, northeast past runs such the B 6 in northwest-southeast direction and south-east, the ridge of a portion of the B 248 in the southwest-northeast direction affected.

Description

The grove mountain that to 299 m high in the Cold Buschkopf and where several streams originate as inflows of heart and Cute is crossed by several hiking trails and forest roads.

Other attractions include the Mount of the grove Bodensteiner cliffs (about 200-283 m above sea level. NN ), which consist of Hilssandstein the Lower Cretaceous and pull to about 3 to 4 km through the southern part of the grove hill. It is locally stronger solidified areas were excised in weathering. Just north, the Hubertus grotto. At Hunters tower on the northern hunters tower head (244 m) providing a view to the south resin. On the Wohldenberg located in the northwestern foothills of the grove hill (218 m) stands the castle Wohldenberg whose donjon serves as a lookout.
