Håkan Södergren

Karl Håkan Sodergren ( born June 14, 1959 in Rosersberg ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player and current coach.

Career

Håkan Södergren began his career as a hockey player with Djurgårdens IF, for the first team he 1977/78 his debut in the Elitserien, the highest Swedish league was in the season. With Djurgården the winger won at the national level in 1983, 1989, 1990 and 1991 respectively the Swedish championship title. In 1990 he also won the Hockey European Cup with his team. He himself was in 1987 awarded the Guldpucken as Sweden's Player of the Year. In the years 1986, 1987 and 1988, he was also elected into the Swedish all-star team. Finally, the two -time Olympian ran in the 1991/92 season at the Huddinge IK in the second-class Division 1, before he ended his career at the age of 33 years.

In his honor, was his jersey number 22 is disabled Djurgårdens IF and issued more than to any other player.

In the 2011/12 season the U19 Juniors of Lørenskog IK from Norway was Sodergren worked as a coach.

Internationally

For Sweden participated Sodergren at junior level at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1977 and the U20 World Youth Championship in 1979. When he U18 European Championship in 1977, he won with his team the gold at the 1979 U20 World Championships bronze medal.

In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1989. Moreover, he represented Sweden at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo and in Calgary in 1988 and in 1987 at the Canada Cup. At the Winter Games in 1984 and 1988 he won the bronze at the 1986 World Cup, the silver and at the 1987 World Championships gold medal with his team.
