Haken (Band)

Hook is a British progressive metal band from London, founded in 2007.

History

The band was founded in 2007. In July of the same year, the first concert followed, she was the on with the Polish band Riverside. This was followed by further performances in London, where the band among other things, for King's X in Wolverhampton and Camden in January 2009 appeared as the opening act. In October, the band played along with Bigelf on their UK tour.

The band reached a deal with Sensory Records and released their debut album Aquarius. The album was recorded in Germany in the Spacelab Studios by Christian Moos and also mastered in Germany in Eroc 's Mastering Ranch. In May 2010, the band opened a concert for the Diablo Swing Orchestra. In the same year, the band also performed at the ProgPower Europe and then played on October 2, a concert with Shadow Gallery in Maasbree. On October 9, a performance followed along with Karmakanic and Agents of Mercy. On November 12, a performance followed along with Freak Kitchen. In April 2011, an appearance teamed up with threshold and Vanden Plas, and a performance at the ProgPower USA in September.

In 2011 followed on Sensory Records second album called Visions. For the third album, released in 2013, the band signed a record deal with InsideOut Music. On 25 September 2013 announced the departure of bassist Tom Hook MacLean from the band known.

Style

The band plays technically challenging progressive metal, reminiscent of the works of Dream Theater and Pain of Salvation.
