Halvor Næs

Halvor Naes ( born April 5, 1927 in Trysil) is a former Norwegian ski jumper.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952, he jumped on the normal hill on 63.5 and 64.5 meters. With 216.5 points Naes finished fourth, which he shared with the German Toni breeding shear.

With 877.5 points Naes 1953 second in the first Four Hills Tournament in the year. This year he won the competition in Bischofshofen with 228.0 points.

1957 Naes was Norwegian champion on the normal hill. In 1960 he was again included in the squad for the Olympic Games. At the Winter Games in 1960 in Squaw Valley, he jumped on the normal hill on the 11th Place. He also won the 1960 and 1961 once the bronze medal at the Norwegian championships on the normal hill.

Naes received in 1964 the Holmenkollen Medal, the highest award in the Norwegian skiing, which was awarded in that year also the Finns Veikko Kankkonen and Eero Mäntyranta as well as to the German Georg Thoma.
