History

Hamlet was founded in 1987 in the Spanish capital Madrid by singer Molly J., guitarist Luis Tárraga and Pedro Sánchez, bassist and drummer Javier Hernández Augusto Carluccio. Initially, the group played the classic hard rock that should change for the groove metal and hardcore punk later. In 1991 appeared the eponymous EP Hamlet, but the sound was rather poor. Already in 1992, followed the debut album Peligroso. At this time Javier Carluccio was replaced by Paco Sánchez.

The second album which was released in 1994 and Sanatorio De Muñecos means was included in the Morrisound Studios in Florida. The third album Revolución 12.111 was taken up again in Florida. As a producer Colin Richardson collaborated on the album. In 2002, the sixth studio album was released under the title Hamlet. Hamlet appeared on the label Locomotive Records, which the live CD with DVD Directo brought out in 2003. Between 1996 and 2002 appeared with Insomnio (1998), El Inferno (2000) and Antes ... Y Después (2001) three more albums. Bassist Augusto Hernández has since been replaced by Álvaro Tenorio. The group tried in the production of Syberia radio USEFULLY to sound, but this failed. The 2006 released album Pura Vida was mixed again by Richardson. Pedro Sánchez left the group and was replaced by Javier Rocarbeti as a guitarist. Not only with internal problems had to fight for the belt, even with the label it went downhill, so that the group could no longer work with Richardson their songs.

The songs on the follow-up album Syberia were mixed by Logan Mader, who has already worked for Gojira, Cavalera Conspiracy and Divine Heresy, in Los Angeles. Hamlet reached a deal with Roadrunner Records, which La Puta y el Diablo published in mid-2010. The eleventh studio album was released in mid-2011 and is called Amnesia. It was also released on Roadrunner Records. Meanwhile, Hamlet stand at Kaiowas Records. The group toured mainly in Spain.

Style of music and awareness

Music style

The group initially played classic hard rock, changed their style but with time. Today, the group plays a mix of groove metal and hardcore punk, which is compared mainly with Machine Head. The group wrote most of the songs in their own language, Spanish.

Fame

Even if the group among the most popular metal bands in the country, the group did not come in the rest of Europe to this day out of the underground status. The group recorded several charts in Spain. The album La Puta y el Diablo received reviews in Laut.de and Powermetal.de.

Band name

The band's name derives from Shakespeare's ' Hamlet play of the same.
