Hanna Mariën

Hanna Marien ( born May 16, 1982 in Herentals ) is a Belgian sprinter and Bobsportlerin. She is the first Belgian athlete, who attended both Olympic Winter and Summer Games. At the opening ceremony for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 she was flag bearer for their team.

Athletics career

At the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006, she reached the semifinals of the 200-meter run and missed with 23.59 s only just the finals.

A year later she won at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok with the bronze medal over 200 m in 23.48 s their first medal in an individual event at a major international competition.

In the same year she won at the World Athletics Championships in Osaka with the 4 x 100 - meter relay in the cast Olivia Borlée, Hanna Marien, Elodie Ouedraogo and Kim Gevaert in the Belgian national record time of 42.75 s the bronze medal.

In the same cast, she won the silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing with the Belgian 4 x 100 - meter relay with a renewed national record in 42.54 s.

Bobs career

Together with the pilot Elfje Willemsen she could win the 2013 19th place at the Bob World Cup. When Bob EURO 2014, the duo was fourth. Willemsen and Marien are the only Belgian participants at the Olympic Games in Sochi in the discipline Bob.
